Halong bay- A beauty untouched by time
By displaying photos of Halong bay from 19th century in dowtown Halong city on 29th April evening, we could easily realise that the beauty of Halong bay is untouched by time.
Taken from planes, mountains and cruises, this collection are the lively images about Halong bay as well as the lifestyle of Halong bay cruises fishers in the pass. With about 150 photos, almost taken by French experts in the period 1885 till 1950, this collection now belongs to a retired history teacher Doan Binh.
Historian Duong Trung Quoc said that those photos are the important historical material, not only for Halong bay tourism but also for Vietnamese people have a panorama view about the beauty of Halong bay and French people’s life in Vietnam in the 19th century.
Beside those valued photos, this is also a great occassion to donate to needy children in the Quang Ninh province, Halong bay. This exhibition will auction 100 bottles of Da Lat wine to raise the funds helping them.
It is a key event in the annual Carnival Halong, which started on April 25 and lasts until May 1.
